Frequently asked questions

Getting started

What can I make in BeadMod?

There are three studios:

  • Bracelet Designer — 3D strands for bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings, and anklets.
  • Loom Designer — paintable bead grids with a live 3D preview.
  • Handbag Designer (Beta) — multi-panel beaded bags with style and stitch controls.

Start from My Studio, then choose Create new on the studio card.

Do I need design experience?

No. Each editor includes a task-based Guide that points to real controls and advances when you perform the action. You can dismiss or resume it later.

Projects and saving

Where are my projects?

Open My Studio and choose the Bracelets, Loom, or Handbags tab. Each tab can search your saved designs and provides edit, duplicate, and delete actions where supported.

What are the project limits?

Limits are tracked separately by studio and can change with your plan. The current default plan configuration is 5 Bracelet, 5 Loom, and 5 Handbag projects on Free; 25 of each on Pro; and unlimited on Advanced. The sidebar and Subscription page show the live value for your account.

Does the editor save automatically?

Cloud saving happens when you click Save Design, Save, or Save handbag. While editing, the Bracelet, Loom, and Handbag editors also keep local draft state so a reload can offer to restore newer unsaved work. Save recovered work if you want it on another device.

Can I undo changes?

Yes. Use the Undo and Redo buttons or Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z on Windows. On macOS, use Cmd+Z / Cmd+Shift+Z. Handbag actions are recorded at useful action or stroke granularity.

Bracelet Designer

How do I change from a bracelet to a necklace or ring?

Open Change Type beside the Bracelet Designer title. Choose bracelet, necklace, ring, earrings, or anklet. The editor applies a starting layout and camera preset; adjust the values in the Bracelet tab afterward.

How do I customise a bead?

Add or select a bead, then use Bead Properties. You can change name, material, finish, primary and secondary colour, size, spacing, rotation, material effect, texture, and lettering options where the bead supports them.

How many bead models are available?

The current Bracelet Designer library contains 158 active models across basic shapes, faceted shapes, tubes, flat shapes, caps, spacers, clasps, charms, letters, and related categories. The library can be filtered and searched by name, category, tag, or product compatibility.

Loom Designer

What is the difference between Import Image and AI Extract from Image?

Import Image converts an image into a grid using local image-processing controls. AI Extract from Image uses the AI workflow to infer a loom pattern and apply it to the current grid. Both can change the pattern dimensions and cell colours.

Can I reuse part of a pattern?

Yes. Choose Stamp Tool, create or select a stamp, preview it on the grid, and place it. Use Save as Pattern when you want to store the complete pattern in the Pattern Library.

How do I change the grid size?

Choose Resize Pattern, enter the number of rows and columns, and confirm. Use Grid Zoom to change the on-screen cell size without changing the pattern dimensions.

Handbag Designer

Why is Handbag Designer labelled Beta?

The editor is available for building and saving handbag designs, but its construction model is still being improved. Panel grids and seam relationships are stored, and the current preview renders the panels in their assembled positions.

How do I make a bag from panels?

Choose a style in the Handbag tab, select each panel in the left rail, then paint or place beads in its grid. Use the Panel tab to choose Peyote, Brick, Loom, or Square stitch. Inspect the result with Fit handbag, orbit, and Wireframe.

Can I use my Loom stamps on a handbag?

The Handbag Designer has its own stamp library and can migrate compatible local Loom stamps. The library reports whether stamps are synced across devices or saved only on this device.

How does AI style modification work?

Choose Modify style with AI in Handbag settings and describe the construction you want in plain language. BeadMod generates a constrained style proposal for preview and confirmation; it does not execute code or silently replace the current design.

AI visualization

What does AI Visualize do?

It uses a clean capture of the current 3D design as a structural reference and places that design into a selected scene. Choose a scene category, a preset, or a custom prompt, then adjust Structure Strength.

Which scene categories are available?

The shared AI surface supports Studio, Lifestyle, Luxury, Natural, Editorial, and Detail categories. Handbag Designer adds construction-aware presets such as Studio Hero, Carried in Context, Editorial Campaign, and Beadwork Detail.

Does AI Visualize cost tokens?

Yes. The dialog shows the token cost for the selected model. Gemini Flash uses 5 tokens and Gemini Pro uses 15 tokens in the current configuration. The token balance is shown in the dashboard sidebar.

Can I refine a generated image?

Yes. After an image is generated, enter a refinement prompt such as “use warmer light” or “make the background darker,” then choose the refine action. You can also download the image and select earlier generated images as references where allowed.

Where do captures go?

Local downloads go to your device. If you choose cloud saving and your plan supports it, images and videos appear in Gallery. Gallery separates Images, Videos, and Reference images and can filter by project, design type, source, and date.

What can I export?

  • Bracelet and Handbag editors can capture PNG images and thumbnails, and can record turntable video where the browser supports MediaRecorder.
  • The Loom Designer can download the pattern image and pattern information, save a pattern, or capture the 3D view.
  • AI-generated images can be downloaded from the visualization dialog and are linked to the saved design when generated from an editor.

The exact download and cloud options are shown in the editor's Export menu and depend on the current plan.

Can I share a design publicly?

Designs are private to your account by default. Download a capture or video if you want to share it elsewhere.

Performance and troubleshooting

Why is the 3D view slow?

Try closing unused tabs, reducing the number of visible beads, switching off bloom or shadows in the scene/performance settings, and lowering visual quality. The performance panel can show live rendering statistics.

Why are the models or HDRI missing?

Refresh the page and check your connection. Bead models and environments are loaded by the browser, while cloud saves and AI features also require an authenticated connection.

Why did an AI button ask me to save first?

AI visualization needs a stable design reference and a design ID for gallery metadata. Save the current design, then open AI Visualize again. Handbag Designer saves the current revision automatically when preparing visualization.

My work disappeared after a reload. What should I do?

Look for the Unsaved work restored notification. The editor restores a newer local draft only when it is newer than the loaded cloud state. Save the recovered version if it is the one you want to keep.

Account and billing

Where can I see plan details?

Open the account menu in the dashboard sidebar and choose Pricing & plans or Subscription. The pages show AI tokens, project allowances, storage, payment history, and subscription status.

What happens when I reach a limit?

Existing designs remain available. Creating a new project, saving new media, or generating AI content may be blocked until you free capacity or change plan. The editor and dashboard show the relevant limit state.

How do I get help?

Open Help & support from the account menu or use the in-app Messages area to contact the BeadMod team.
